Union Public Service Commission has released the UPSC IFS prelims result 2025 on June 11, 2025 on the official website, upsc.gov.in. The UPSC IFS prelims exam 2025 was successfully conducted on May 25, 2025. Candidates were able to download the UPSC IFS admit card on May 13, 2025. UPSC extended the last date to submit the UPSC IFS application form 2025 to February 21, 2025. The UPSC IFS application form 2025 was released on January 22, 2025 at upsc.gov.in. The application form correction window of UPSC IFS 2025 was available from February 22 to 28, 2025 (revised dates). 

The UPSC IFS mains exam is scheduled on November 16, 2025. UPSC conducts the Indian Forest Service exam 2025 to recruit officers to forest services of India for systematic management of forests in the country. UPSC IFS selection process 2025 comprises three stages – prelims, mains, and interviews. Candidates must qualify each stage of the UPSC IFS exam to be selected for subsequent exam stages. 

UPSC IFS prelims exam comprises two papers - Paper 1 and 2. Candidates will be shortlisted for the IFS Mains exam on the basis of marks secured in Paper 1 subject to them qualifying Paper 2 with a minimum of 33%. Candidates shortlisted for Mains will need to fill a Detailed Application Form (DAF). Candidates qualifying Mains exam will be called for Personality Test/ Interview. The Commission will prepare final merit on the basis of marks obtained in Mains exam and Interview.

Union Public Service Commission released the UPSC IFS application form on January 22, 2025. The last date to submit the UPSC IFS 2025 application form is February 21, 2025 (extended date). 

The application fee for prelims exam is Rs.100. Candidates can pay the UPSC IFS fee in both offline and online mode. Candidates who qualify the prelims stage needed to fill UPSC IFS Detailed Application Form (DAF) for Mains exam. The application fee for IFS DAF is Rs. 200 which could be paid either offline or online. Women, SC and ST candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

  • Complete the UPSC IFS 2025 OTR registration process

The eligibility criteria of UPSC IFS 2025 is prescribed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in the notification. Number of attempts: Candidates will be able to appear for the exam a maximum of six times

Preliminary Exam

The exam pattern of UPSC IFS prelims exam is provided by UPSC along with the notification. The exam comprises of two papers of 200 marks each. Questions asked in Prelims will be objective type questions. As per the marking scheme, one mark is awarded to candidates for correct responses while 0.33 mark will be deducted for wrong answers. Main Exam

UPSC 2025 admit card for Mains exam will be issued by Union Public Service Commission. UPSC IFS Mains admit card consist of details such as candidates' name, roll number, registration number, exam timing and centre details and exam day instructions.

  • Click on the link
  • Enter registration number/ roll number and date of birth

Preliminary Exam

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases the answer key of UPSC IFS Prelims exams after the declaration of final result. The answer key of prelims will be released online for all sets of General Studies - Paper 1 and 2. The answer key will be available in the form of PDF file. 

Candidates will be able to avail the answer key by clicking on the link which will be provided by UPSC. Upon clicking, the pdf file containing the correct answers to all questions asked in Prelims exam will be displayed on the screen. Candidates must download and save the answer key for future reference.

Main Exam

UPSC IFS answer key for Mains will not be released by Union Public Service Commission as the exam is descriptive in nature and comprises only conventional type questions.

Preliminary Exam

UPSC IFS result for Prelims has been declared by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on June 11, 2025 in the online mode. UPSC releases the result of IFS prelims in the form of pdf file containing the roll numbers of candidates who have qualified the exam stage.

Procedure to check UPSC IFS result:

Main Exam

UPSC will declare the result of UPSC IFS Mains on the official website. Based on the result of Mains exam, candidates will be called for Interview. After the Interview has been conducted, the Commission will prepare the final result on the basis of marks secured in Mains exam and Interview.

Preliminary Exam

The cut off of UPSC IFS Prelims exam is the minimum marks that candidates are required to secure in order to be shortlisted for Mains exam. The Commission will determine the cutoff of prelims exam on the basis of marks obtained in Paper 1 subject to qualifying Paper 2 with minimum 33%. Candidates will be selected for Mains exam based on the cut off of UPSC IFS Prelims exam.

Main Exam

Union Public Service Commission will determine the cutoff of UPSC IFS for Mains after the conduct of the exam. Based on Mains cutoff, candidates will be selected for Interview stage of the exam. After the conduct of interview, a final cutoff will be released based on the combined scores of Mains exam and Interview. On the basis of the final cutoff, UPSC will recruit candidates for UPSC Indian Forest Services (IFS).

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts UPSC IFS exam in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Interview.
